Director of Customer Success and Deployment for Cyber Security, Mid-cities DFW, TX

This is a vital leadership role within the Customer Success Organization. We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly motivated hands-on engineering leader to take charge of all technical engineering aspects of our customer onboarding deployment in the field, driving success and delivering exceptional value.

Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated hands-on engineering leader to own all technical engineering aspects of our solution’s field customer onboarding deployment – inclusive of all 3rd party log ingestions (EDR, FW, LDAP/AD, O365, Google WS, AWS) and our on-prem X86 server hardware & software appliance product deployments (known as Quorum Collect Appliances), inclusive of QA testing, remote installation, appliance software/hardware updates and refresh management, and shipping logistics.

This is a core leadership position within the Customer Success Organization. This person will also manage a small team of deployment engineers that both provision features and drive up-time for all data upload ingestions into the Quorum Cloud Platform. This leader is to serve as principal SME for all hands-on server appliance builds, standardizing code updates to maximize security features while optimizing performance/headroom, and will build out and maintain the to-be-built Southlake Office Quorum Collect Appliance Manufacturing & QA Test Lab. This space is intended to be showcased to strategic partners, customers, and investors.

This person must be a detailed and relentless driver as an individual as well as with internal team members and customers – to improve speed of all customer onboarding engineering deployment tasks. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in COTS hardware appliance build engineering, Unix/Linux system administration, cybersecurity software integration, L2/L3 network and cloud infrastructure provisioning, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Server Cyber Appliance Build and Configuration:
• Assemble, configure, and test server hardware to meet designs and feature use cases as approved by Management.
• Develop and implement new server appliance hardware and software configurations.
• Setup and manage a New Build office space area and QA Test Lab on an internal cloud network and run PCAPs traffic through devices to test resource load and performance across different supported server appliance models withIDS, Biflow, other network security rulesets, and 3rd party log collection (LDAP/AD, FW). Make the on-line QA Test Lab accessible to the global Cyber Analyst Team and work with them on optimizing performance and security efficacy for customer environments.
2. Operating System and Application Management:
• Install, configure, and keep updated and patched operating systems and applications on servers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software and hardware integration.
3. Documentation
• Maintain detailed documentation of hardware & software configurations and system changes.
4. Logistics and Shipping:
• Package and ship cyber appliance servers to clients or other locations, ensuring secure and efficient delivery.
• Coordinate with logistics teams to track and manage shipments.
5. Full Cycle Technical Deployment Onboarding:
• Lead all deployment engineering functions, driving the team and working closely with other cross-functional teams, including software developers, network & cyber deployment engineers, project management, and support staff.
• Provide technical guidance and support for internal and external stakeholders.
• Drive industry leading fast, efficient, and successful onboarding that provides and maintains uptime and efficacy for all features of the Quorum Collect Appliances and other Data Upload Ingestions into the Cloud Platform.
6. MXDR Features Onboarding Management:
• Work to optimize IDS rulesets and other Biflow security features, including ensuring new rules are properly implemented and updated on all field deployed devices.
• Manage and document roll-out scripts and enablement/support processes, helping drive automation and ease of deployment to customers for all NDR, EDR, SaaSDR, CDR, and other supported features.
7. OS Updates for Infrastructure:
• Work on keeping OS and apps Infrastructure updated on appliances remotely deployed in the field to customers and partners.


Qualifications:
Education: 4-year college computer science or engineering degree (or equivalent expert industry experience), industry certifications a plus
Experience: Proven experience as a senior technical field facing engineering individual contributor as well as team leader. Network/Data Center/Computer Hardware hands-on technical experience, computer or server hardware assembly/configuration/maintenance experience.


Technical Skills:
• Strong proficiency with Unix/Linux Operating Systems, especially RedHat/CentOS.
• Strong Unix/Linux experience, especially at the command line. Able to work with CLI environments and use text editors like VI and emacs.
• Strong understanding of server hardware components and configurations.
• Strong experience with cybersecurity software and tools – specific focus on Suricata. Other IDS/IPS/FW and EDR/EPP technologies a plus.
• Strong experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.
